The far northeastern tip of Tenerife is accessible via this stunning hike from Chamorga to Faro de Anaga.
This hike is really enjoyable, offering breathtaking views of Roque de Bermejo and dramatic rock formations rising out of the ocean.
Note: this is a loop, so you can hike it in either direction. We chose to start with Roque de Bermejo.

Duration: 5 hours
Loop: Yes
Difficulty: 3/5
Distance: 8 km

Step 1: Starting from Chamorga
There’s decent parking available near the start of the trail — either around the curve just before entering the village or before the curve near the bus stop.
The loop begins near Bar Casa Álvaro, where you can grab a bite or a coffee before (or after) your hike.
Step 2: Descent to Roque de Bermejo
We loved this descent!
There’s no technical difficulty, and you’ll pass through the tiny, charming village of Roque de Bermejo, where you’ll spot the little chapel (la Capilla).
You’ll then reach Playa de Roque Bermejo. If you go a bit further, you’ll find another beach and a small port — a great sheltered spot for a swim!

Step 3: Climbing to Faro de Anaga
The return leg is spectacular! Endless ocean views await.
It starts with the climb to Faro de Anaga (Anaga Lighthouse). The path is steep, but the landscapes are absolutely stunning, especially with the Roques de Anaga in the background.
Step 4: Back to Chamorga
After the lighthouse, the ascent continues with more amazing views.
You’ll pass through native forest typical of the region, go by the Casas de Tafada, and then descend back to Chamorga — closing the loop!
